The award-winning Maserati, chassis 2059, was one of four A6GCS/53 models to wear a Berlinetta body designed by Carrozzeria Pininfarina, in the design firm's final work for Maserati (excluding the 2005 Maserati 75th Birdcage concept). 2016-01-22 Four Maserati A6GCS/53 Berlinetta cars were finally completed to Dei's order, with coachwork styled and crafted by Pinin Farina of Grugliasco, Turin. The A6GCS was a very important model for the Maserati and had good racing successes from it's debut. It won numerous races, including the 1953 Mille Miglia in it's debut in 1953, where the cars came in 1st Class (3rd OA) and 2nd Class, against brutal competition from Mercedes and Ferrari teams.
